INCIDENT:  FTA Warrant

ARRESTED:  Khalil R. Abdullah, 32 YOA, Newark, NJ

INCIDENT NARRATIVE:    Patrol observed an overweight truck traveling on Harrison Street and stopped the vehicle.  A Check of NJ DMV revealed 2 active warrants on Mr. Abdullah.  He was arrested and charged with operating on a restricted roadway overweight and the 2 failure to appear warrants.  He was processed and released pending court.

DATE:    11-21-17

INCIDENT:  Possession U/50gr Marijuana, Parked in a Handicap zone

OFFICER:  Ptl. Robert Young and Ptl. Dan Titen

ARRESTED:  Christopher Baker, 31 YOA, Frenchtown, NJ

INCIDENT NARRATIVE:  On 11-21-17 patrol was issuing a parking ticket to a vehicle parked in the Handicap parking zone on Race Street, which did not have a handicap plate or placard.  While doing so the operator, Mr. Baker, returned to the car.  During a brief conversation patrol smelled the scent of burnt marijuana coming from the vehicle and on the console area a small amount of marijuana was observed.  Mr. Baker was arrested and charged with Possession U/50gr of marijuana and parking in a handicap zone.  He was released pending court.

Lewdness Arrest

DATE: 10-18-17
INCIDENT: 3 Counts of Lewdness
OFFICER: Ptl. Robert Young and Ptl. Dan Titen
ARRESTED: Lee E Shechtman, 27 YOA, Horsham PA
INCIDENT NARRATIVE:
After a 3 month long investigation, Frenchtown Police announce the arrest of Lee E Shechtman. After investigating a report of a male using a Borough Business bathroom, and while doing so, leaving the door open so he could be viewed by the female patron’s and employees, Mr. Shechtman was charged with 3 counts of Lewdness and was released pending court. Warrant Arrest 9-10-17

DATE: 9-10-17
INCIDENT: FTA Warrant, Operating a MV while suspended
OFFICER: Ptl. Daniel Titen
ARRESTED: Ismail Y Ismail, 29 YOA, Haledon, NJ
INCIDENT NARRATIVE:
A DMV check via computer showed the registered owner of a 2010 Ford as being suspended. A MV stop was conducted and the driver, Kurt Steinbruch, showed to be the registered owner. Kurt was issued a summons for operating a motor vehicle while license is suspended. While checking the occupants for a valid license, Ismail was found to have an outstanding warrant in Paramus. After being processed Ismail was released pending court.

Two East Orange men have been arrested and charged in connection with sexually-assaulting a teen.

FRENCHTOWN – Two East Orange men have been arrested and charged in connection with sexually-assaulting a teen, Hunterdon County Prosecutor Anthony P. Kearns, III said Tuesday.
Junior A. Desir, 25, and David Dorelas, 22, were charged with one count each of second-degree sexual assault and one count of third-degree endangering the welfare of a child, Kearns said. Desir was charged on Sept. 7 while Dorelas was charged on Thursday.
An investigation by detectives from the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and Frenchtown police revealed that both men had sex with a teen between the ages of 13 and 16, the prosecutor’s office stated.
Their arrest was announced by Kearns, Chief of Detectives John J. Kuczynski and Frenchtown Borough Police Chief Al Kurylka.

INCIDENT:  Operating a MV while suspended, Child Support Warrant

OFFICER:  Ptl. Daniel Titen

ARRESTED:  Johel Teo, 46 YOA

INCIDENT NARRATIVE: 

While conducting DWI patrol a random plate inquiry on a 2003 Subaru showed the operator to be suspended, along with an active Child Support Warrant.  Mr. Teo was arrested and charged with operating a MV while suspended and also for the active Child Support Warrant from Union County.  He was later transported to the County Jail on the support warrant in the amount of $11,000.

INCIDENT:  Poss. Of Marijuana u/50gr

OFFICER:  Ptl. Grant Korten

ARRESTED:  Benjamin A. Karmondi, 21 YOA, Bloomsbury, NJ

INCIDENT NARRATIVE: 

Patrol was on a DWI detail, observed a 2001 Dodge Pickup making a turn after failing to use the turn signal.  Officer Korten smelled an odor of burnt marijuana, which resulted in the arrest of Mr. Karmondi, who was charged with Poss. u/50gr marijuana.  He was released pending court.

OFFICER:  Ptl. Robert Young

ARRESTED:  Albert B. Schneyer, 36 YOA, Erwinna, PA

INCIDENT NARRATIVE: 

While on Patrol a random plate inquiry was made on a 2003 Chrysler when a Contempt of Court Warrant was found on Mr. Schneyer.  He was arrested and charged with Contempt of Court, bail was posted.  He was released pending court.
